1937
Isaac T. Loewen started Loewen Body Shop in Carman, initially working out of a barn with a dirt floor.
1939
The shop moved to Steinbach at the onset of World War II, marking the beginning of its long-standing presence in the community.
1962
The original building on Steinbach’s Main Street burned down and was replaced with a new facility, which remained for decades.
1970
New Frame Machine in ~1970. Purchased from Brownie MacDonald. Albert Loewen & Abe Doerksen, with Alvert's Chrysler Pictured.
1991
Mark Loewen took over operations from his father, Albert, continuing to grow the family business.
2020s
Josh and Jesse Loewen stepped into management roles, representing the fourth generation. Josh’s daughter, part of the customer service team, marks the fifth generation.
2023
The Loewen family decided to move to a new facility on Highway 52, signaling the next chapter in the shop’s growth, while selling the historic Main Street location.
